Baby Blue
This is my latest finished collage. It’s an 8×10 on canvas board. I was excited to see this one develop. The featured bird has been hanging around in my ideas drawer since 2000. He started as part of this huge poster sized oil bar piece that refused to come together as I envisioned it. I clipped out the bird, saving him and since then he has haunted me. I’ve reincarnated him and yet he was still there, bothering me. I doubt I’ll ever drop him entirely as a theme- there is something intriguing and almost sinister about him. In Baby Blue he comes together with this sweet little vintage soul, who came to me through a friend (FiggyFigg) courtesy of Ebay.
PS No we still don’t know the sex of the baby so this isn’t some kind of sly hint. Believe me, as soon as I know I’ll be shouting it from the roof tops. Today I wont get to find out but I will get to hear the baby’s heartbeat again and maybe get something to help clear up my sinus infection.

You’re right, it is a little disturbing, but pretty cool.

I know what you’re having by the way you look look. You get that all the time, don’t you? I know you do. Really, though. I’m serious. I’ve become an expert in the field. I could set up a booth at carnivals for pregos only.
And now, I HAVE to respond to the comment you left in my latest entry. Just the other day, Bunny drew a beatutiful Picassoesque drawing in SILVER permanant marker ON THE HARDWOOD FLOOR IN MY BEDROOM.
First, I smelled it. Then I saw it. Then I said, “No, no, no, no, no.” Then I began to cry and scrub at it ferociously with the first thing I saw, which happened to be diaper wipes. Bunny, looking very concerned said, “Mommy! Mommy! I’m sorry, are you crying, Mommy? Are you angry with me?” I said, “No Bunny, I’m not angry with you. You’re two. But this kind of marker doesn’t come off the floor.”
I didn’t know what I felt worse about… the marker, or freaking out in front of her.

I love that floral print you used for the lettering and on the side. It’s all fun…but that print is super pretty. Very cool.
