Weekend Confessional

Forgive me bloggers, for I have sinned. It has been 1 week since my last confession and what I am about to tell you may not only be troubling to some, but entirely embarrassing to me.

I have a crush, well 2 crushes. I like to think of my self as being impervious to the mass marketing of celebrities. I belong to no fan clubs, I quickly passed through my Tiger Beat phase with few battle scars and I have never felt compelled to stalk a celb. I realized sometime last year, while scrapbooking, that I might have a true celebrity crush. I found the very idea repugnant and yet I have found no way to stop it. You see my dear readers, while working on Tessa’s 1st year scrapbook I actually did this:

It may be hard to spot the small caption, but it says “making her John Cusack face.” Covers eyes with shame. Yes my love of John Cusack has become so pervasive that it has even bled into my child’s scrapbook. But look at him… There is just *something* that makes me quiver

Not long after this shocking realization my similar crush on the lead singer of Reel Big Fish suddenly fell into focus… They look alike!

Then today I drew yet another parallel in attempt to make this insanity logical and less embarrassing. I have concluded that they both bear some resemblance to my own husband

Tell me I’m not crazy. Tell me it will be ok. Tell me that I’m right. Tell me your secrets, the confessional booth is now empty.

Oh no. It’s okay. I am in it bad for John Mayer and McSteamy from Grey’s Anatomy. And I will watch anything with John Cusack in it. Anything. I love him (even though he’s totally yours).

  2. Says:

Ewwww…John Cusack? You are not right, that is just plain wrong!!

Wait I shouldn’t talk. I wanna have Adam Sandlers babies. Sorry

  3. Says:

    You aren’t crazy, Fidget.

    It will be Ok, Fidget.

    You are right, Fidget.

    Crushes know no bounds!

I love John Cusack. Ever since “The Sure Thing” he has been my favorite. When they filmed “Say Anything” in Seattle I will admit to trying to find the film set with a friend, but we were out of luck. He is cool and you are not wrong.

Every woman I know, who is of a certain age, loves John Cusack beyond all reason. I include myself in that category. I even have a get out of jail free pass from the husband, should John ever come knocking at my door, looking for some lovin’.

  6. Says:

That’s so funny looking at most everyone’s comments. I too am in Love with John. I too am aloud to sleep with him with no problem as long as he takes me to dinner and bring back Simon a doggie bag.
I’ve always had a thing for the cute guys!

Oh yeah, your man is definately Cusack-esque. Fear not. Nothing is wrong with a little celeb drooling, it is their job to be oggled…

The real problem comes when you find out what these people are *really* like. I’ve seen John in interview. He seems like he might be a bit depressing and not-so-social. But nice enough, and definately hot.

You’ve just lucked out in ending up with a man who looks like your celeb crush, but has a compatible personality. :-)

  8. Says:

I have had a deep and abiding love for John Cusack since I saw The Sure Thing when it came out twenty? years ago.

    mmmmm

Thanks for that photo. Excellent way to start my day.

  9. Says:

I have realized the same shameful thing about myself. Try to think of it as being “consistent” - that’s a much more positive spin.

  10. Says:

I have the same thing for John Cusack. Yes, OK, I admit it! I was even enraptured by his mopey boat building character in “Must Love Dogs.”

You want shameful, though? Let’s just not go into that whole Keanu Reeves obsession I had about 5 years ago….

  11. Says:

All three are hot, your ok…..

    ;)
