Decorating Help
Recently something has occurred which has sparked a renewed interest in getting our home projects done. I am so thankful that this has come along to act as a catalyst because if I have to go through another entire pregnancy with no place to nest I would end up in the loony bin. I can’t talk about what wondifferous event has refreshed The Hubster until all the paperwork is in but let’s say it’s a very nice carrot to dangle in front of the home improvement donkey.
On to my issue. The babies room. Originally I had planned on making the walls green
but we have had to shuffle the room plan since now TWO boys will be sharing it! *cheers* The new room only has 1 window and is much less sun washed in general. I think my color pallet needs some adjustment. Here is the fabric which is the basis for the room theme

the quilt will be used either as a wall hanging or as part of the window treatment.
Here is the major dominating piece of art for the room, this sucker is over 5 1/2 ft tall and came from Nasa.
I hope to add a chest of drawers painted in a vibrant red to the room. Levi’s crib is a darker cherry wood color.
What color would you choose for the walls knowing that the room tends to be on the shady side and will have darker and very large artwork on the walls?

I’d probably go with the yellow from the blanket and the rocket picture. Very cute! I’d also try incorporating those polka dots from the blanket into something. Maybe a lamp shade? Or on the light switch cover? I dunno…I love polka dots.

I also vote for yellow! The yellow will brigthen the room up and look great with the picture and blanket!

I also think yellow, such a cheery color and versatile too! I have a bit of that spaceboy fabric left - you want a light switchplate cover?

We painted Button’s first room yellow. And I can tell you that it’s VERY EASY to get REALLY SICK of yellow. Especially if it’s on the bright side (like the yellow in your fabric and art) instead of the pastel side. Just a word of caution.

I thought yellow right away…my second choice is blue but you might get the whole robin egg look if you arent careful….

I LOVE YELLOW!! My car (ford Escape ) is Banana yellow! seriously - but a bright canary yellow would be hard to live with after awhile….. BUT - a sunkissed baby chicken yellow is a COMPLETELY differant story. I was also think of a white with a yellow base - it comes out the color of butter..
that is what my bedroom is with blue trim -

This might sound lame .. but what about white? It would go with the red, white, blue picture and lighten things up a fair bit.

Butter yellow. It would be beautiful and easy to change in the years to come. LOVE the fabric.
