master multi-tasker

My kids are still young enough that they harbor the notion that I am some how magical. Evidence of this presents it’s self daily. Today for example:

There I am, in the shower soaping up when suddenly the curtain whips back. Tessa is standing there staring at me in all my naked lathered up glory and says

“I’m hungry for lunch Mama. Please make me lunch”

“Um honey, I’m in the shower right now”

“I know Mama but you can handle it”

“I’ll ‘handle it’ when I’m done showering, Tess”

**stomps foot and walks off grumbling** “It’s not fair, you COULD do BOTH!”

Apparently, I should be frying bacon on my ass while I’m showering

    Tessa is officially a member of the “Honey your terrific, you can do anything club” This is what my husband has said to me at the worst times… I have been having a asthma attack, pregnant, and trying to make cupcakes for a entire 3rd grade class, and DH needs me at 11 PM to drive with him to his parents to pick up his parents car to take to work. Mind you he could have picked it up with his father on the way home from work, but he wanted to come home (this means some show was on TV that he watches) of course once I got back with the car, iced the cupcakes, I drove myself to the ER, and DH had a fit when I called to let him know that they were keeping me.

    Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode in which Kramer was rinsing his salad greens in the shower to save water.

    I say set a bowl of snacks on top of the closed toilet lid and take your sweet time in the shower!
