Good for something bullies

Mira stepped off the bus today, her face drawn and shoulders hunched. When the chalk greeting I made at the end of the driveway didn’t even elicit a small smile, I knew something was up.

Hey baby, what’s up. How was your day? You look tired…

Mom, the kids.. they.. mom.. and then they said.. and then they laughed.. and I was.. (sobs)

We went inside and curled up on the couch so she could catch her breath and think to speak in complete sentences.

It turns out, some of the kids on the bus were teasing her. She was so excited to tell everyone that Santa left her a 2 wheel bike but they quickly crushed that joy, using it to taunt her about the fact that she wasn’t able to ride it by herself yet.

The Hubster and I did our best to cheer her up. Then, the studly Rock Hubster took Mira out to practice riding. Much to our amazement, the kid GOT IT in about 20 minutes.

Day 7

At one point she turned to me and said “Ha, mama! I showed those big mean heads!”
