Within the next month or so, we’ll be up to our eyeballs in eggs. I’m going to start selling the extras to help cover chicken feed costs. Is it weird that I got positive GIDDY over this new development? Apparently, the girls REALLY liked the peanut butter and banana sandwich I tossed out there today.

Those are a nice size for first eggs! Not at all pullet sized.
You think that’s great, just wait until you taste them.
And they are sooooooo much healthier than store eggs.
Fidget, Isn’t it a wonderful feeling! Now remember, when you’re getting so many you can’t eat them all, store em with the pointy side down! Enjoy!

Hi Duknuk!
I’m jealous. I want some ckickens.
How many eggs do they make?
That’s so neat.
I’ve always wanted chickens. Always.

depends on the hen. Most of mine will lay 5ish eggs a week, though my reds may lay every day!
why do they shine so much? I have bought brown eggs before and they never had a shine on them. Congrats on your eggs and many more to come

they were shiny because The Hubster washed them off. I couldn’t wait for them to dry before i took pictures hee hee hee
No not weird … I’d be giddy if I chickens and something came out of their butts.
However, I do not have chickens. Nothing coming out of butts over here … well, almost nothing save the obvious.

Those are nice eggs for first timers! I bet they will be delicious, and the best part is you know where they are coming from.
Yummy! I wish I lived close enough to buy your eggs. They are the best kind, the kind that come from happy chickens!

Dontcha just love that feeling of new egg excitement? It will feel even better when you’re at the store and you can walk past the egg section and chuckle……
So I guess I know where I will be buying my eggs! They are very pretty, for something that came out of a birds ass. lol

yay!
Welcome to the egg club. Just watch their vents for signs of blood now. Sometimes the other birds will pick a hen with some blood down there. They can end up quite mauled. But more importantly, I hope you enjoy eating the eggs as much as looking at them!

Those are great for the first eggs! They’ll lay even more in the summer months, and you’ll need to buy an ice cream maker so you can make frozen custard, which is delicious.
Hey, those are little eggs. How many of those make an omlet?
Was that a totally stupid question? I’m so sheltered.
