I knew that raising girls would be challenging. Girls seem to toss around more attitude, make you guess what is wrong, and need far more finessing then most boys ever do.
Lately, the mouthy monster has landed and my girls have been spending a lot of time “thinking” about things (like what they just said, how they just said it, and how they can avoid doing that in the future so they don’t end up in the laundry room shackled to the washing machine for all of eternity).
Yesterday was just one of those days.
Mira woke up on the wrong side of the bed and quickly ended up on the wrong side of my mood. She refused to get moving, repeatedly mouthed off, lost her backpack and jacket, and had a melt down at the bus stop. I, being the gracious loving mother that I am, told her to suck it up and enjoy her school day because when she got home, she was grounded.
T.V. time was taken away and since she came home with no homework, I set about remedying the situation. I told Mira to write her spelling words 3 times each. Her first attempt was a jumbled mess. I could tell she really didn’t want to be doing this and churned out a craptacular product hoping it would slide by. What house has she been living in?
So I made her start over again.
Boy, was she mad

That is the best. I lol’d for a good five minutes. Aren’t kids great?
I’d be clobbered into the middle of next week for writing something like that, lol.

That is hysterical. Just think- with girls it doesn’t get any easier.
Oh Thank you thank you thank you…..that was by far the funniest thing I have read in a while! Also, the knowing that my daughter has not done that and she is 12!!!! Oh I am sure she says it when I can’t hear but wow…having the balls to write it out FOR your mother to see is just classic!

Save it & laminate it. Use it against her when she has a daughter of her own. My own daughter is in middle school & I am seriously thinking about shipping myself off to Siberia.
You just made my day!
Lissa:)
PS. Thanks for your comment on my post last week, it meant a lot.
LMAO Oh, that is great!
Sweeeet!
And for the record, I am so glad that I paid for the shackle attachment on my washing machine. That thing has more than paid for itself!

Too funny! I am still laughing and smiling here! I agree, absolutely priceless!
That my dear is what us mothers call keepers. So rare and precious that many have only dreamed of having our child do such a thing. Quietly put it away and wait until just the right time and pounce mom. As Martha Stewart says “It’s a good thing”
I’m sure it was subconscious, aren’t you ;+? My daughter is only 4.5 and she has the “hunh!” of disapproval down pat. I imagine she’ll writing these sorts of things in just a while as well. Thanks for sharing.

My first grade BOY sounds like he’s a match for your first grader! We seemed to have a similar evening….maybe it’s a parallel universe only I’m surrounded by testosterone! (also have a 4 year old boy with even more attitude if that is even possible)
I love it! My youngest practiced his rhyming skills with “ding dong the witch is dead….which old witch..the wicked bitch”….
I love your posts. I can’t help but laugh out loud!
Your kids are so cute. Absolutely love the peno!
