so you see, here is the thing

I’m brain dead. Not legally, mind you, but rather just in general. I have all these things rolling around in my head like the epic stupidity of the person that invented talking shirts for kids. UHH DUH, top 3 complaints of parents

-my kid is to noisy
-my kid wont zip it
-my god even in their sleep my kids make too much noise.

Why would we purchase something that they wear on their body that makes MORE noise? Hell, I rip the batteries out of toys within 3 days and those are not my kids person at all times.

Speaking of epic stupidity, I fall under this heading. Lately I have been eating like crap and I think my anemia is back. I haven’t had an issue with it since I first went gluten free but the oh so familiar room spinning and death crush feeling in my chest is back. I’m also bruising if you look at me the wrong way- weeeeee! I’m fairly certain it’s because I have been neglecting myself nutritionally but I also accidentally glutened myself 2x in the last month so that may be a contributing factor. On the plus side I discovered that 1 Newman’s Own sweet dark chocolate candy bar has 10% of my daily iron needs.

In backyard news, 2 of the itty bitty dumped chicks appear to be roosters. they are now sparring for dominance and at least 1 will have to be rehomed. They are old English fighting bantam mixes so if we try to keep them both, there will be a death match. I’ve had to dispose of enough chicken carcasses so Craigslist meet Pepe… or Sunny. I’m still trying to decide.

Dont forget to enter my Bella Sara contest (aka crack for girls) and look for 3 more contests launching soon. I love giving you all stuffessez.

  • Come on now Fidget, you need some more excitement in your life with roosters sparing. I think the real solution would be to put the talking shirts on the roosters and let them at it. Now that would be a show to remember. Or you could just eat them and help your anemia. See, now I have solved all your problems simultaneously! It’s magic!

  • Can’t you get some females? That would keep the roosters busy, I bet.

we have 13 females but 1 roo is comfortable with up to 10 so i suspect they will be battling over the gals. Plus 2 gamecock males should not be kept together, it’s just in their nature to kick the shit out of each other. The trick will be to find a suitable home where no one intends to fight them.

Hmmmm do I remember you saying something about never-ever-ever owning a rooster? Or are these magic roosters that know not to crow early in the morning and risk the wrath of Mama Hen in the Big House?

Will he get bigger, or do you think your hens will push him around? Ooooo or do they have some kind of pheromone that turns the ladies into a swoonful of feathers? Tee hee…

Does this also mean more little chickies will be on their way? Ok, stopping now before any more questions pop in my head.

I said Id never purposely buy a rooster! And both roos may very well end up leaving. they are banties so very small compared to my ladies. The hens push him around right now but eventually they will be glad to have him watch for hawks (if we keep him) and baby chickies? I dont know.. not sure if it’s possible for him to do the deed with the ladies so large and him so teeny tiny.. well other then fluffy. if fluffy is a lady then perhaps some bantie chicks

  • You have just given me reason #1 not to get baby chicks for Easter.

  • I am totally braindead too. I have a feeling, though, that it’s just something that I’ll have to get used to. Kids are zapping all my neurons dead.

Umm, never underestimate your roos. Some of them may like bbw. I have seen a Basset Hound/German Shepherd cross. Feel like pondering the mechanics of that one?
